When it comes to carbon fiber cloth, I believe that those who are engaged in building reinforcement are not very unfamiliar, and they will often hear the term and noun "k-number of knitting". Today, I will take this noun to analyze and discuss with you:
What exactly is the k-number? Is it generally used to measure indicators? Or does the larger the value of k mean the higher quality and stronger carbon fiber products?
Don't rush to make a conclusion, let's take a closer look at such a problem first.
In general, the k-number of braids refers to thousands of filaments in a bundle of carbon fibers. So by analogy, 3k means that there are 3,000 monofilament carbon fiber filaments in a bundle of carbon fibers, and 12k means that there are 120,000 monofilament carbon fibers in carbon fibers.
From the above series of values, we can see that the larger the k number of carbon fiber, the thicker the carbon fiber bundle. For this reason, do many people think that the thicker the carbon fiber bundle, the higher the strength and the better the quality?
In fact, it is not. The number of carbon fibers used to produce fiber bundles of different thicknesses is also different. The true measure of carbon fiber strength is the T-value.
What is the "T" value? The T value is a "carbon fiber model" formulated by a well-known foreign carbon fiber manufacturer, and it is also a commonly used grade standard in the industry.
For example, T 300/3K, T 300/6K, and T 300/12K have the same strength, but the carbon fiber thickness is different. 3K woven carbon fiber fabric is relatively delicate, so under the same material and strength, the price of 3K is usually higher than 6K and 12K.
Of course, to judge the quality of carbon fiber, it is not enough to judge the quality of carbon fiber fabric from the K value and T value. Choosing the right manufacturer is also important.
