Our Fiber Eco Review

We created our own fiber eco-review using resources such as the MADE-BY Fiber Environmental Benchmark, the Textile Exchange Preferred Fiber Market Report, and other research on the environmental impact of each fiber. Here, we only consider fiber production, not dyeing and finishing.

These fabrics have been specially developed for composite reinforcement. They can be used with epoxy, vinyl ester or polyester resins to form rigid laminates. Common applications for KEVLAR 49 fabric include: kayaks, canoes, high-speed boats, aircraft fuselage panels, pressure vessels, sports equipment, wind turbines, and more.

The UV components of sunlight degrade and break down Kevlar fibers, a problem known as UV degradation, so they are rarely used outdoors without sun protection.
